So this all came about with a neighbor’s love of Cheetos… and a company holiday party with a chocolate fountain and a bag of Cheetos. Yes, I know it all sounds confusing but what the unconfusing (is that a word?) part is, is a recipe challenge. What sweet treat can I come up with made with Cheetos….possibly chocolate… and tasty?
1 - 8 ounce bag Puffy Cheetos
2- 10 ounce bags large puff marshmallows
1 stick salted butter
2 cups (11.5 ounce bag) milk-chocolate chips, divided
4 tablespoons heavy cream
- With the cooking spray, coat a 9x13 cake pan, bottom and sides, evenly then set aside. In a large pot begin melting the butter. Add the two bags of large marshmallows, and slowly begin to melt stirring frequently.
- Remove the pot from the heat and add one full bag of the puffy Cheetos; Toss to coat. Stir in one cup of the milk-chocolate chips and toss. Pour, Spoon, or scrape the contents into the cake pan. Spray one side of the parchment paper with cooking spray, then press down that side onto the sticky treats. Press and pack down into the pan evenly using the paper. Discard the parchment after use.
- Heat the whipping cream toa simmer. Add the remaining 1 cup of chocolate chips to a bowl, and then add the four tablespoons of hot whipping cream. Mix into a smooth ganache and drizzle over the top of the treats.
- Place the pan into the fridge to chill and set, approximately 20 minutes. Cut into 2” squares and serve.
